Junior B League Champions 2014-10-07 11:07:00

Pride of place this week must go to the Junior B team who played  Kilmacabea in the league final last Saturday 4th October, in Aughaville. The game was played in excellent conditions and Caheragh started brightly getting some good scores. There was little to choose between the teams as the first half progressed however the breakthrough came in the form of a well worked goal from the boot of James Herlihy which gave the home team a lead of 1-5 to 0-2 at the break.

The second half was low scoring and with the Caheragh defence playing superbly as well as strong displays from midfielders Tony Herlihy and Gavin Barnett, they never allowed Kilmac back into the game. A couple of excellent second half  points from Dan Mc Carthy, Tadhg Deasy and Brendan Crowley wrapped up a very satisfying win on a final scoreline of 1-9 to 0-4. It is a long time since Caheragh won this league and they now go in search of the double when they play O Donovan Rossa in the Junior C Championship final which is fixed for next Saturday 11th Oct, confirm time and venue locally.
