Club History - 2006

U21B Championship
In the first round we played St. Colum's where we took a while to get into the swing of the match but came out winners at a score of 1-6 to 4 points.

In the third round we played Clann na Gael where both teams were level pegging for a lot of the game but Clann na Gael just peeked the post at a score of 1-10 to 1-9.

Junior A League
We won five matches in the league and drew with Kilmacabea which meant that we qualified for the league Semi-Final which was to be played in early 2007.

Junior A Championship
Played Clonakilty in the first round where we gradually came into the game and won the match at a score 13 points to 10 points.

We played Barryroe in the third round where we won convincingly by a score of 2-9 to 5 points.

In the Quarter Final we played Bandon where we played well and won by 1-12 to 10 points.

We met O'Donovan Rossa in the Semi-Final where we dominated the second half to win convincingly by 1-14 to 1-7.

In the West Cork Final we met St. Colum's in Bantry on 9th September where we dominated throughout the match the and won our Fifth Junior A West Cork Title by a score of 13 points to 6 points.

Minor A League
We won two of our league games and drew against Newcestown however failed to play against O'Donovan Rossa.

Minor A Championship
In the first round we convincingly beat Doheny's at a score of 3-13 to 4 points.

In the Semi-Final we played Bantry Blues where we were lucky to come out winners after missing a number of chances with a final score of 3-7 to 15 points.

In the West Cork Final we played a far superior Carbery Rangers. We played poorly and Carbery Rangers were deserved winners by a final score of 3-22 to 4 points.

Junior C League
We won four of our matches to qualify for the League Final where we played Bandon. We played well in the first half to lead at half time although Bandon put on the pressure in the second half however we won by the smallest of margins at a score of 1-12 to 1-11.

Junior C Championship
In the first round we played Clonakilty where we missed a number of chances however emerged winners by a score of 1-10 to 1-9.

In the Semi-Final we met Bandon where Bandon started well by getting two goals early on but we recovered well and finished strong to win at a score of 3-7 to 1-6.

In the Final we played St. Colum's in Aughaville on 17th December which was the final to famously go to three nail biting games. In the first game we were dominating for a long time during the game but allowed St. Colum's to come back into the game to draw level with the final score of 5 points apiece.

The replay was played in Baltimore on 7th January, 2007 where we struggled during the second half where we got two late points to draw the game. It went to extra time where we conceded 1-1 in the first half and scored 1-1 in the second half with the final score after extra time being 1-6 apiece therefore calling for yet another encounter.

The second replay was played in Baltimore on 21st January, 2007.

Junior D Championship
It was the first time the Club entered a third adult team into the Championship.

In the first round we met Ilen Rovers where we played well in the first half and won on a score of 1-5 to 1-3.

In the Quarter Final we met Kilmacabea where we dominated the game and won on a score of 2-10 to 5 points.

In the Semi-Final we played Diarmuid Ó Mathuna's in an even competition where our ability to score in the second half won us the game at a final score of 1-11 to 6 points.

In the West Cork Final we met St. James where we played a spirited game which ended in a draw due to a late goal at a score of 2-6 to 1-9.

In the Replay in Baltimore on 16th December we played well to earn our first ever Junior D West Cork Championship with a final score of 2-6 to 11 points.
