The under 21 footballers played Goleen in the quarter final of the Championship last Sunday evening in Ballydehob. Having not played since mid March the team were slow to start but gradually worked their way into the game and by halftime had built up a four point lead 0-9 to 1-2. In wet and greasy conditions they scored first in the second half but the concession of a second harsh penalty allowed Goleen back into the game and the lead was down to two points. A strong team performance in the last ten minutes maintained the lead and ensured they qualified for the Semi-final against St.Mary’s on a final score line of 0-15 to 3-3. This game goes ahead next Saturday at 7.30pm venue has not been confirmed, therefore check details locally.
