The junior ladies travelled to Ballydehob on Saturday night last to play Muintir Bhaire in the West Cork Championship final. After the heartbreaking defeat in the County Final against Castlemagner the team were determined to finish the Season with some Silverware and had prepared well for this game.

The first half was very keenly contested with Muintir Bhaire packing their defence and as a result the forwards found it difficult to score. The teams traded early scores in what was a tough tackling encounter,  however Caheragh began to find their range and two brilliant goals by Lorraine O Neill and Jennifer Collins gave them a half time lead of 2-6 to 0-5.

The second half was low scoring with defences on top, however Caheragh did not concede after the break and added three further points to be crowned Champions on a final scoreline of 2-9 to 0-5. There were great celebrations at the full time whistle, as the Cup was presented to outstanding Captain Ann Marie O Brien.
