News Week Beginning 15th July 2013

The draw for the next round of the Junior A Football Championship
went ahead on Saturday week last. Caheragh have been handed a very tough draw
in the form of St.James. This match goes ahead on Sunday next 21st July
in Leap at 3pm and should be a very lively encounter. As usual support would be
appreciated.

Under 14:

Last Sunday the under 14 footballers continued their very
impressive league form when they travelled to Goleen to play Mizen Rovers and
emerged victorious on a final scoreline of 8-17 to 5-8. This weekend they also
play St.James in the Championship, venue and time not yet confirmed, therefore
check locally for details.

Minor:

On Friday 5th July the Minor team made the long
Journey to Millstreet to play the locals in a league game. Having not played
for some time they were rusty early on and conceded some easy scores, as the
game progressed Caheragh improved but could not close the gap and were defeated
on a scoreline of 5-14 to 2-13.

Cork Junior Win:

Last Thursday night two Munster Junior Championship medals
returned to the Parish when the O Driscoll brothers Colm and Kevin were  part of the Cork Junior team that defeated
Waterford in the Munster Final. The game was played in Dungarvan and Cork had a
comfortable win on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-9 with both getting on the
scoresheet. Cork now play the British Champions in the All -Ireland Semi-final
