The Junior footballers commenced their County  league programme last Sunday with an away fixture against St.Mary’s in Enniskeane. With conditions underfoot extremely heavy, the scoring rate was slow in the first half with the home team leading by three points at the break, having played with the wind. Caheragh started the second half well and kicked some great points building up a four point lead, however some faulty shooting ensured a tight finish with the visitors holding on for a deserved win on a final scoreline of 1-9 to 1-7. The next game in this league is at home to Boherbue on 26th March while on Sunday next 19th March they are away to Dohenys in the Carbery –Beara league.

On Friday next, St. Patrick’s day, the under 21 team are first into Championship action when they begin the defence of their West Cork Title against St. James in Leap at 12 noon. This is a repeat of last year’s 2nd round game when Caheragh recorded a very narrow victory.
