The ladies commenced their championship campaign on Monday last 18th July with a home game against local rivals, Castlehaven.  This year’s system is once again a round robin affair with the top two teams from the group advancing to the knockout stages.  In glorious sunshine and on an immaculate surface the Caheragh ladies exploded out of the blocks and raced into a three goal lead within the first ten minutes.  It was a lead they never relinquished and after producing some wonderfully free folding football they clinched victory on a scoreline of 7.10 to 1.04.  Next up for the ladies is an away tie with Carrigaline, with a date yet to be fixed.  The under 16 team were less fortunate in their recent league game against Castlehaven, after a hard fought battle they were narrowly defeated.
