Junior 3 league final 2015-11-17 15:16:00

The Junior C footballers after their recent Championship victory over O Donovan Rossa in the West Cork Final went in search of the double last Saturday when they played St.Marys in the division 4 league final in Ballineen.

In very wet and windy conditions the home team played with the elements in the first half and were first to score but a great goal by Liam O Donovan had Caheragh just one point in arrears at the break 1-3 to 1-2. A hard fought second half saw the visitors go ahead and a great save by keeper Kieran Collins in the dying moments ensured Caheragh retained their league title on a final scoreline of 1-8 to 1-5 and in doing so completed an historic double. Outstanding Captain Eoin Murphy was presented with the league trophy after the game.

This victory completes the playing season for 2015, well done to the panel of players for a great season and to Selectors James O Donovan, James Herlihy and Nick Hegarty.
