Scor 2015-11-17 15:15:00

The local round of the Scor competitions were held in Caheragh Hall recently.  It was fantastic to see such interest in the Scor competitions.  It is also very encouraging to see lots of new children taking part, in doing so, keeping our culture alive and well in the parish.  The local winners in the Scor na nÓg competition have since gone on to Rossmore to represent the club in the Carbery Final.  The club was represented in all seven categories.  The club was very successful, coming away with two first places, in the play and set dancing and four second places in figure dancing, musical group, recitation and the ballad group. The set dancers and the play have secured themselves a place in the County Final, which takes place in Coachford on Sunday next, November 22nd.  These are as follows, the set dancers, Clodagh McKennedy, Maeve Kingston, Mairead Crowley, Aoife Kingston, Claire Hegarty, Amy McKennedy, Sinead O’ Donovan and Helena Collins along with the group of  Mark Hegarty, Oisín and Eugene Daly, Louise Keohane, Rory Kingston, Caitriona Keohane, Aoife and Maeve Kingston that make up the play.  We wish them the best of luck.
