Ladies through to County Final this Saturday against Castlemagne 2015-09-09 15:47:00

The Tadhg MacCarthaigh ladies played Erins Own on Wednesday, 2nd September in the junior C county championship semi final.  In prefect playing conditions a very competitive match ensued with Caheragh just shading matters at half time by 3-05 to 3-04.  In the second half Caheragh displayed huge heart and commitment, with limited possession the forward line were in potent form and opened a four point lead going into the final 10 minutes. With excitement levels at fever pitch,Erins Own upped the ante in the remaining minutes but the Caheragh rear guard would not be breached and ran out deserving winners on a final scoreline of 4-08 to 3-07.  Caheragh now make their first county final appearance since 2010 against Castlemagner on this Saturday, 12th September at 4.45 in Macroom. It is hoped that a large crowd of supporters will turn out to cheer on the team.

The U.16 girls recently contested the West Cork final against St. Colum’s.  As they have done throughout the season the girls played with great cohesion and spirit.  However they were up against a physically stronger side in St. Colums and the title went the way of the Kealkil team.
