Junior A Championship Vs St James 2016-04-28 19:16:00

The Junior A footballers played St.James in a first round Championship tie last Sunday evening in Leap. The game started well with some good scores by both teams in the first quarter, however coming up to half time Ardfield dominated to lead by three points at the break, 0-8 to 0-5. The intensity increased in the second half and Caheragh started to dominate midfield, with the crucial goal coming at the three quarter stage courtesy of Mark O Driscoll. With the defence playing well, the Saints were held to one point in the second half and Caheragh ran out winners on a final scoreline of 1-9 to 0-9. This was a good result and they now progress to the third round avoiding the dreaded back door.
